My Story
How it Started
Many years ago I learned how to make wine from my next door neighbor. He grew grapes and my friends and I picked every kind of fruit that was in season, blackberries, strawberries, mulberries and raspberries and he turned them into wine. I found it fascinating and tried my hand at making my own wine. It was very good, good enough to be used by my friends and I after High School graduation.
That was the end of making wine until I told my son about my wine making experience and he thought it would be great for me to make wine again. I did not agree but for Fathers Day he gifted me a wine making kit and we enjoyed the wine so much I picked up the hobby.
Here’s the funny part, I made more wine than I needed so I would send a case of unlabeled wine to my son for his and his friends enjoyment and enjoy they did. My wine had no name until one day I had came home from a conference and had my name tag on and took it off and put it on a bottle. That day Bob Wine was born. People loved the idea of Bob Wine but more importantly they wanted Bob Wine. Since I could not legally sell I determined how to legally start selling wine and discovered that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts strongly supports local production of wine and actively promotes Farmer Wineries. Of course, I had no idea how much time, energy, and effort it took to actually become a Farmer Winery. And yet, it turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. I proudly hold licensing from both the state and federal government to produce and sell Bob Wine. The best part is making friends of people that enjoy wine. So follow me on Instagram and come by and sample my wine at tastings or simply say hi. Always my pleasure to introduce you to the family of Bob Wine.
Cheers, Bob
